During a nationally televised Hurricane Katrina relief show, actor/rapper Kayne West showed the world what he was made of as he went on a tirade against George W. Bush.
“George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” West said. “They’re saying black families are looting and white families are just looking for food…they’re giving the (Army) permission to shoot us”
NBC attempted to cut off the out-of-line remarks by cutting to a shot of actor Chris Tucker, but by then, the damage had already been done.

I think Kayne is totally wrong. The pics dont lie. There was total lawlessness there. The stealing of food and water is understandable. I think in a way both sides are right. Black people should love one another more. But in reality that is not going to happen unless we start raising the future generations better. And for those of you who feel that Kanye and the rest of the entertainers need to stop passing judgement and do something about it themselves have a point as well. But that doesn’t negate the fact that it is takin’ too damn long to respond to something they knew was going to happen in the first place. Eventhough it was unknown where exactly Katrina was going to hit, something still should have been done when it was known that Katrina was, beyond a shadow, of a doubt going to hit.
Finally, the only reason it was mainly the blacks stealing is because New Orleans is 75% black. I read several newspaper articles in which blacks were stated as "looting" and whites were listed as having "found such items" when in reality, both races were doing the same thing whether you see it as "looting" or "finding." You be the judge.
