Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was denied entry into an exclusive Paris boutique. Winfrey was denied entry into Hermes in Paris. When she tried the door, they refused her entry because they have been having trouble with North Africans.

“Hermes regrets not having been able to accommodate Ms. Winfrey and her team and to provide her with the service and care that Hermes strives to provide to each and every one of its customers worldwide,” the store said in a statement.
“Hermes apologizes for any offense taken due to such circumstances.”

The store said the incident occurred on June 14 around 6:45 p.m., about 15 minutes after the store closed. It said Winfrey and her team arrived at a time when “a private PR event was being set up inside.”
Harpo Productions spokeswoman Michelle McIntyre said Winfrey “will discuss her ‘crash moment’ when her show returns from hiatus in September.”
“Crash” is a film dealing with race relations. The phrase “crash moment” refers to situations where a party feels discriminated against on the basis of skin color.
The New York Daily News cited sources close to Winfrey as saying the talk show host was first rebuffed by a clerk and then a store manager. The Daily News reported Winfrey had gone to the store to buy a watch for singer Tina Turner, her dining partner that night.
McIntyre confirmed that account for CNN.
The New York Post, in its Monday Page Six gossip column, reported she was turned away because the store had been “having a problem with North Africans lately.”
In comments to CNN, an Hermes spokeswoman categorically denied that allegation.
“There was never any discussion of North Africans,” she said. “The story is not true.”
The spokeswoman said Winfrey came to the store 15 minutes after closing and a security guard informed her the store was closed and gave her a card, telling her she could come back the next day.
Surveillance videotape of the encounter supports the store’s account, according to the spokeswoman.
She said the CEO of Hermes has called Winfrey’s people to explain “the situation” and invited her to come back to shop in the store.

1.Hermes Store vs. Oprah Winfrey is not as bad as it appears. They had their rules, and guide lines to follow, and if it had been Jammie Fox, I feel the results would have been the same.
2.We will never out grow disputes with other people, and we must learn to forgive, and for get. Hermes said that they regret not having been able to accommodate Ms.Winfrey and her team, what more can you ask for.
3.Remember here the Rich is dealing with the Rich and Famous, neither depends upon the other for total survival.Either side can do without the other. One visit don’t make the store rich. This is Paris!~
4.The world must change it’s focus on this matter. We can not create the pain of discrimination,because Oprah is Black, I’m sure all of her team wasn’t Black.
5.Last but not least, remember we all fall,,,,but the great ones get up, and move on by the grace of GOD.If the tables had been turned, and Oprah had scheduled a show with all of Paris big name stores, and towards the end of her show Hermes of Paris would have said stop the show and add us to your schedule, I’m sure Ms. Oprah would have done the same to Hermes Store, and management, because no matter what you do in life it should all start with a Plan. are you people out of your fuckin minds? look at the facts and stop tryin to make this about race. the bitch showed up at the store 15 minutes AFTER the store had CLOSED. for any of us that has worked retail, we know that closing time is closing time. instead of her going there to buy Tina Turner a watch for having dinner with her, she should have used her own watch to know that the damn store was closed. dont get mad just cause they wouldnt let her throw her celebrity weight around in order to get special treatment. being black aint had SHIT to do with this.
you know something, I’m glad something like that happend to Oprah. She seems to forgot where she comes from. If you take the time to understand her really good, she is nothing but a white woman who’s using her pigmentation to her best interest in order to get accepted on both parts.
